'Creativity' is a staple item that has not been left out of the talent perspective of recent companies. In order to become a leader rather than a follower in a rapidly changing era, creativity that solves problems with ideas that have never been before is essential. However, it is very difficult to express creativity alone, in a rigid environment. You need an environment where you can dream freely and present ideas, and a relationship where you can grow while thinking together.

Smilegate Hope Studio launched the'Rainbow Project', a creative workshop for children from local children's centers in 2019. If last year's project was an opportunity to introduce a new world of creative activities using IT technology to children who lack a creative creative environment, this year's project will create a creative'community' that allows children to continue their creative activities based on their interests. It was prepared under the special goal of creating and revitalizing.

A community is a group that operates autonomously based on interests. Even if someone doesn't tell you to do something you like, you'll do your best. At this point, it would be great if someone with the same interests was with you. This is why the role of the creative community is so important to draw out the children's initiative and autonomy attitude and passion for creation.

For example, the process of developing and adding thoughts through sharing and feedback with peers of the same age with freely expressed creations using coding eventually becomes a leading creative experience that expresses what they want happily. In addition, through interaction within the community, they learn the rules and attitudes to become a member of the community, and naturally go through a socialization process to practice how to become a healthy member of society.

This is a good experience for vulnerable children who lack the opportunity to reveal and express themselves in various environments, as they can freely acquire the necessary competencies as members of a modern society where collaboration is essential.

Helpers play an important role in the creative community. Smilegate Hope Studio is a team of 4 creative mentors for college students with competence, experience, and love for children (KAIST educational volunteer club SEED, Duksung Women's University Computer Engineering Dept. Evergreen Sound, Hanyang University Information Systems Dept. High Five, Hanyang University Computer Software Dept. Park Kim Oh) Selected.

The motives for participating in the Rainbow Project were slightly different, but the same people who wanted to share with the society by using their respective competencies and talents gathered and finished preparing to become mentors for children step by step.

“I learned that it is important to understand the mentee's thoughts and gaze through constant questions rather than giving the fixed answer.”

“All four of our team have a unique background in computer science. This is a case of finding interest late in coding. As a result, there were many difficulties. It would be great if it would be an opportunity for children to explore and discover their interests early.”

The orientation, which was held online for two days, is a time to share the meaning and philosophy of creativity and creation through Future Lab's creative workshop, and to learn about micro-bits that will be used in creative activities (Day 1) and understanding of'Gen Z'children. It consisted of a simulation of actual classes (Day 2) through thoughts on how to establish a relationship and workshops for each team.
